The Bicycle Hub's Place in Cycling Hstory

Welcome back to the days when bikes were made of steel, Rock Shox didn't exist, and full suspension was but a dream! The Bicycle Hub of Marlboro owner, Wally Tunison has been involved in cycling activities since the early 1980's. Here are just a few of the activities that led Wally down the path that eventually led him to open the Bicycle Hub of Marlboro in 1994.

Wally Tunison, Manager of the Peddler of Long Branch, worked with Fat City Cycles of Somerville, Massachusetts, AXO Sport, JT Racing of California and Nolan Helmets to acquire bicycles and clothing for this production. Tunison is the NORBA representative for the state of NJ and has promoted numerous ATB events over the last four years.

This commercial will feature mountain bikes for the first time on a nationally shown status. Featured in this commercial will be Team Miyata rider Greg Herbold, observed trials rider Mitch Carrier, John Griel and Sun Valley National NORBA's event promoter, Doug Neidrich.

Even in 1991, the front suspension fork had not caught on yet, even on a full suspension bicycle! Note: Wally (right) is riding the very first pre-production Cannondale E.S.T. mountain bike.
