TENTATIVE CLASSES and PROFICIENCIES

The following proficiencies will be offered:

  • Beginner Junior Men (ages 14 and under)
  • Men (ages 15-18)
  • Men (ages 19-29)
  • Men (ages 30-39)
  • Men (ages 40-49)
  • Expert Men (ages 40 and over)
  • Men (ages 50 and over)
  • Women (combined)
  • Kiddie Crit
  • Tandem (combined)

The only exclusive classes will be:

  • Beginner Junior Men
  • Expert Men (40 and over)
  • Women (combined)
  • Kiddie Crit
  • Tandem (combined)
  • Cop Class

The remaining age groups for men will have Beginner, Sport or Expert Class.  Women are allowed to ride in the Men's class and are not required to ride in the Women's class.

REGISTRATION

Registration will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for all events.  Registration will reopen from 12:30 p.m. to 12:55 p.m. for Pro/Semi-Pro only.  Only the first 350 riders may be registered, so get there EARLY.  The cost for registration is $30.00.  Cop Class and Tandem teams may enter the cross country for $10.00.  Policemen, professional firemen, rangers, and security guards entering the Cop Class must show valid ID for the reduced cost.  POSITIVELY NO CHECKS! JORBA membership suggested. NO REFUNDS!

        COURSES

The Kiddie Crit Loop (about 1 mile long) runs along the sand roads surrounding the sand pit at the main registration area.

The Scrambles Loop (about 5 miles long) consists of single track, fire cuts, and Jeep roads. Short uphill portages will be encountered.

The Cop Class Cross Country Cruise will consist of two laps. A safety vest or windbreaker must be worn over your torso to identify your department.

AWARDS

Awards will be given out approximately one hour after each class finish.

All Kiddie Crit finishers will receive awards.

Scrambles:

  • Beginners - first through tenth place finishers receive medals.

  • Elite -  first through fifth place finishers will receive cash awards.

  • Expert - first through tenth place finishers will receive medals.

  • Sports - first through tenth finishers receive medals. 

  • Cop Class - first through fifth place finishers receive medals.

  • Tandem Class - first through fifth place finishers receive medals.

You must be present at the awards ceremony with your number plate to accept your awards - no awards will be shipped.

 IMPORTANT

  • Car pooling is strongly suggested! Parking is very limited! Observe the parking regulations.

  • You will be sharing the trails with equestrians and hikers - any equestrians or hikers encountered on the park trails will have the right of way. This includes DURING the race.

  • All bikes must be in safe working order.

  • All racers must wear an approved helmet.

  • ALL DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH.

  • Minors (under 18 years of age) who need to purchase JORBA membership must have a parent or guardian present.

  • Portable toilets will be available at the event.

  • Attention SANDBAGGERS: this event is for fun. If you can’t ride in your correct class, then stay home.

  •  Any disputes should be brought to the attention of the promoter, whose decisions will be final.
